If you happen to be like me or any one of the millions out there, the phrase I need to gain weight has been uttered a hundred times in the past. Some take the steps to do it, while others simply find it is too hard for them to pack on the pounds. Different things work for different people, but I have found that the most basic of things has worked the most.
The first thing that needs to be said is that many people end up failing on their quest and need to gain weight. Whether it happens to be because they are lazy, or haven't found anything that works consistently, most guys will simply quit trying. Also, I am sure you have spent a pretty penny on many high tech supplements and supplies. Some might work, but are too expensive. Some might not work at all. As is with all of life, there is a lot of testing and tuning to be done. The good part is that gaining the pounds can be much easier than you think. I need to gain weight should not be a phrase that needs to be left alone, because you can do something about it.
I need to gain weight, or at least I did. After trying everything imaginable, I have found that the most basic of things and products are the ones the have helped me out there most. All were either free or very cost effective. All it took was simple vitamins, a couple of low cost supplements and a workout routine which was fun. You must have fun when trying to reach your goal, and I finally found the way which worked for me.
The first thing that I realized was that free weights are my best friend. I am sure that you have heard that doing any cardio while trying to gain weight is not the best thing in the world and it's true. Stay away from cardio for a while or you will be uttering that I need to gain weight phrase over and over. If I need to gain weight, there is no way I am doing any cardio. Now, back to the part about the free weights...
I realized through reading and common sense that I had to master my posture and form when using free weights. If I need to gain weight then I need to use free weights. This is very key and I attribute a huge amount of my success that taking the bit of time it took to master this. Secondly, the two main excurses that basically built my foundation were dead lifts and squats. You have probably heard this a million times already, but it needs to be said again. For most people, there really isn't anything better that dead lifts and squats for putting on the pounds. If you are still saying I need to gain weight, you should look no further that these two things as a starting point. Oh yeah, and the great thing about dead lifts and squats is that you only have to do them two times per week in most instances.
Next, we come to what "supplements" have worked for me. Well, I wouldn't even consider most of them supplements. It's been a long time since I have said to myself, I need to gain weight, but I still need certain things to keep the pounds on. First, I got rid of all of the high tech supplements. Sure, some of them helped out a bit, but none did enough to justify the price tag. As far as an overall helper, I have found that multi-vitamin is amazing. You can get high quality vitamins for a very reasonable price on the web. In short, the multi-vitamin has helped my endurance, energy, attention span, drive and my over all feeling of health. This and a nice protein powder have done wonders and it's basically all I use to this day. I have seen this combo work for many people. I could list some of the other vitamins that I take, but those work different from person to person, so I will leave it at that. The phrase I need to gain weight should be something you keep saying to yourself for motivation until you can achieve your goal.
If I need to gain weight again in the future, these are the simple building blocks that I know are tried and true and continue to work to this day.
