Find Why People Travel From far & wide at the home of Hollywood celebrities?

Today, Norm Goldman, editor of Sketchandtravel.com Bookpleasures.com and is delighted to have you as our guest, author William A. Gordon.

William wrote: The Ultimate Hollywood Tour Book: Shot on this site: four dead in Ohio: The Quotable and writer.

William Good morning and thank you for your willingness to participate in our interview.

William: I am very happy to do so.

Norm:

May have about you, and when your passion for writing? Start your opinion?

William:

I started when I was eight, and was very prolific in my pre-teen years. I used to study the "Hardy Boys" novels and then wrote some of my own. I was a big fan of TV, and wrote scripts not only mock-ups, but for planning, who was then 39-week season, with plots and everything.

I think I was an aspiring producer in my years Teeny-Bopper. I was writing for a number of years, and then to school, where I wrote backUCLA Daily Bruin for. I then transferred to Kent State and wrote my first book in 1970 on executions and trials. It took me almost eight years to write the book, and nine others to publish, but after that things fell into place, and I wrote three other books.

Norm:

Two of the books you posted Shot is the latest Hollywood tour book and website. Why were you interested in writing these books? Can you explain some of your research techniques, and howDid you find the sources for your books?

William:

I wrote these books after four dead in Ohio, was released in 1990. I had to do something radically different and more attractive to the public. And since I always loved walking around LA (Los Angeles is my Paris), I wrote the book on tour almost a lark. What jump-started my career, and shot on this site is essentially a book spin-offs. There are places film in the U.S., while the book of Hollywoodtourists pointed in the direction of film and TV sites in Los Angeles, among other attractions.

With a background in investigative journalism prepared me follows investigative sightseeing. Real estate agents and interview would be historic Hollywood to find out who lived where, where houses and shops in the biographies of his celebrity to get more background information on stars e.

I would also like to confirm to the city assessor for property records, and to find the LA Permit OfficeRecords about the film in Los Angeles, where I had friends in the entertainment industry, who would tell me some of the places tourists may never know. My favorites are some of the sites that inspired songs and the "flying saucer" house in the Hollywood Hills.

Norm:

Which celebrity has the biggest house in Los Angeles? The most expensive: The biggest disappointment?

William:

* The largest house of Aaron Spelling, the producer who ownedproposed "Charlie's Angels," "Dynasty," "Melrose Place" and many schlock. He bought the former Bing Crosby estate for € 10,000,000, torn down and built a 123-room, 56,000 square feet, $ 40,000,000 Villa on the site. It 's bigger than the Taj Mahal or about 31 times as large as the average American home.

* It has the most expensive house in Los Angeles, but. That distinction belongs to David Geffen, a founder of DreamWorks. He bought the old Jack Warner estatefor $ 47,500,000. Ironically, he spends most of his time at his beach house in Malibu, WHERE was just a losing battle by environmental activists to accuse him up to an agreement that would allow bathers access to the public beach next to his house should live.

* The most disappointing house - at least for a celebrity of his greatness - is one of Jack Nicholson. It has a very modest ranch house, even if other homes for his children and EXE.

Norm:

If youhad to choose five places of Hollywood wedding for a condition that the hall was rented, that you choose and why?

William:

* If you are into castles, there is a castle known as Castle Hills Friedman Holly Ridge Drive in Hollywood. It is sometimes rented for weddings, as "house Dynasty" in Pasadena. It 'also rented for larger parties and was in several movies.

* There are also several hotels, including theHotel Bel-Air, which has a storybook quality to it, and both the Ritz-Carlton in Pasadena and Marina del Rey.

Norm:

How you used the Internet to enhance your writing career?

William:

Internet helps a lot in my publishing career in conflict with my writing career. The publishing listservs I belong to some visibility and I like the writers of advice, who sat in the same boat I'm in I hate to see people, the same mistakes I did when Iout.

Norm:

Why are they so interested in visiting homes of celebrities, and they want to see where the movies were filmed?

William:

People are fascinated - fascinated, in fact, probably a bit '- with celebrities and their lifestyles. Viewing the property is owned homes probably nothing more than the President's visit libraries or celebrities. And 'the closest most people ever come to power, and being a celebrity is a form of power.

As for movies I have eververy fun to see places I've lived in the area, as presented on the screen. To do so, a lot of people. However, if some of the sites after the fact and go see them up close, you may be disappointed Come Away. The big screen does wonders for conventional homes.

Norm:

It can show our readers five locations such as hotels, parks, etc where celebrities have been married and who were these celebrities?

William:

The best-known celebrities tend not to havemarried in church
more - at least not in Los Angeles itself, seems to marry increasingly large private homes (Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears are two recent examples), and I think the reason is to protect their privacy. Hotel Bel-Air is a popular meeting point for those who are on the list "B, then the Beverly Hills Hotel...

Norm:

Recommend other writers find a niche or specialty? What were the awards forYou?

William:

Yes, and I have a niche that has not helped my career. My tastes are eclectic, and this is not necessarily a good thing.

Standard;

What is the next William A. Gordon and there is something you want to add to our interview.

William:

At this moment I am among the books, but I have to sell my "Ultimate Hollywood Tour Book" Year after year, and I am glad that "four dead in Ohio" university courses was adopted, a series of.Right now I am selling databases and publishers and journalists in search of my next project.

Norm:
